Today we're excited to announce Possible's second Quarterly Impact Report. As one of our recommended effective charities, Possible is a nonprofit health care company that delivers high-quality, low-cost medical services and treatment to the world’s poor. Possible is a pioneer in durable health care, providing sustainable and cost-effective approaches that bring together the best of private, public, and philanthropic models. Since 2008, Possible has treated over 200,000 patients in rural Nepal through government hospitals, clinics, community health workers, and a referral network.

At Possible, one of the principles in our For-Impact Culture Code states, “We are transparent until it hurts.” We believe it’s crucial that not only our organization, but all nonprofits, are transparent about impact, data finances, failures, and successes.
That’s why we began publishing Quarterly Impact Reports (QIRs). In addition to our Annual Impact Reports, we wanted to keep our community of investors and supporters frequently up to date with important and relevant information with simple and great design. You can read our latest report here.
In our last quarter, we expanded from three to six clinics, added a set of remarkable senior leaders, and secured a $1 million USD matching commitment from the Nepali government so we can become Nepal’s first rural teaching hospital and a model for the country.
Perhaps most remarkably, we treated our 200,000th patient, an incredible milestone for an organization whose guiding value is “to solve for the patient.”

We weave transparency into Possible in many additional ways. We use the product management tool Asana so we all know what others are working on and are holding each other accountable, whether we’re working in New York or Nepal. Additionally, strategy, team members’ areas of responsibility, milestones, and Board minutes are visible to the entire team.
In addition to aiding transparency, there are two other reasons we’ve started to produce QIRs, which have strengthened how we operate as a team:
1) Learning. To develop our QIRs, we use an internal process in Asana to drive benchmarking and data collection. Hence, our QIRs aren't just external reports—we optimize the entire organization’s improvement and growth around QIR development.
2) Efficiency. It’s part of our For-Impact Culture Code to minimize complexity as our organization grows. With high-quality and consistent quarterly reports, we can eventually replace customized reporting requests from a growing set of partners.
